Swimming Through Winter

Did you know that if you are planning on giving your child the winter months “off” (terms 2 & 3), you are limiting their instructed lesson time to only 10 hours a year!

Water dangers do not disappear simply because the weather gets cooler, so it is important to continue with your swimming lessons all year round.

Benefits of year round lessons:

  • Regular exercise helps increase your child’s fitness and immunity

  • Time off can result in a decline in water confidence, independence, and loss of skills as the skills we teach are not being reinforced

  • Swimming has been proved to help assist in brain development of school- aged children, improving concentration, balance, motor skills, and coordination.
